Welcome to the Bethel, VT Equity & Inclusion Committee.


Our Goal:

The Committee on Inclusion and Equity will be tasked with understanding issues of inequality in our community, suggesting ideas on how to remedy those issues, increasing civic engagement, and offering education and training on how to foster a more inclusive community for everyone.

When Do We Meet?

The Equity and Inclusion Committee meets every 4th Tuesday of the month 6-8 PM. The meetings are open to everybody and we encourage participation.

Welcome to Bethel

The Equity and Inclusion Committee of Bethel, VT was founded 2020 in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and strives to fight for equal rights for all people regardless of their skin color, their nationality, their sexual orientation or their gender.

Town of Bethel, Vermont 


The Town of Bethel condemns racism and welcomes all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, age, income, or disability, and wants everyone to feel safe and welcome in our community.  As a town, we formally condemn all discrimination in all of its forms, commit to fair and equal treatment of everyone in our community, and will strive to ensure all of our actions, policies, and operating procedures reflect this commitment.  


The Town of Bethel has and will continue to be a place where individuals can live freely and express their opinions.  


Adopted by the Bethel Selectboard on September 26, 2022.

- Educate our community about BIPOC land   

  access in Vermont

- Having discussions and informational meetings 

  with select board members and anyone 

  interested to learn about Equity and Equality

- Updating our towns forms & permissions 

  that includes all residents

- Help to raise the standard of our school
